The “based on a true story” movie, Alpha Dog, started some of Hollywood’s A-List celebs.
What producers and director failed to mention was the fact that the case had yet to see an actual court room.
Jesse James Hollywood is the real life drug dealer accused of kidnapping and murder in the 2000 case.

The movie “Alpha Dog,” released last year and starring Bruce Willis, Sharon Stone and Justin Timberlake, gave a fictionalized account of a similar crime.

Ron Zonen, the original prosecutor in the case, had cooperated with director and screenwriter Nick Cassavetes in 2003 in making the movie that became “Alpha Dog.” Zonen said he hoped that publicity from the film might aid in finding the escaped Hollywood.

It seems surreal to me that a story of drugs, kidnapping and murder can hit the big screen before it hits a court room.
