If you are like me I thought we were not allowed ot text while driving after July 1st, when the hands free device las went into effect.
However it appears I was mistaken.

LA Times is reporting a new law to take effect January 1st 2009.
Where drivers are prohibited from reading or writing text while driving.

Schwarzenegger signed legislation Wednesday that imposes a $20 fine for a first offense of texting while driving and a $50 fine for any subsequent violation.

Call me stupid but I thought hands free, meant hands free.
But I guess we can go on a merry texting ways for 3 more months.
